Informacijos mokslai

Aims and Scope

"Informacijos mokslai" is a scientific journal that covers wide range of topics from information and communication field: topics of information and knowledge society, its legislative, technological, cultural and economic aspects, information and knowledge management questions, theoretical and practical researches on organisational communication management, gender communication, investigations of media management, media culture, international and intercultural communication. Only original scholarly articles and surveys discussing all kinds of problems of communication and information, book reviews and academic chronicles could be accepted and published.

In 2016-2019 publication is funded by the European Social Fund (Project code Nr. 09.3.3-ESFA-V-711-01-0004).

In 2009-2015 publication was funded by the Research Council of Lithuania according to The National Lithuanian studies development programme for 2009-2015.

The scholarly journal has been published without interruption since 1994.

Publication policy and ethics


Board of editors of “Informacijos mokslai” encourages authors and reviewers to follow the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Code of Conduct and Guidelines on Good Publication Practice (, which define best ethical practices in scholarly publishing.

Authors who submit articles for publication to “Informacijos mokslai” are strongly recommended to follow the European Code of Conduct for Research Integrity ( or the Code of Conduct for Researchers of the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences (Code of Ethics for Researchers) (

Peer review

“Informacijos mokslai” is a peer-reviewed journal that aims to develop of a coherent and respected network of knowledge that reflects quality of the work of the authors and the institutions that support them. It is important to agree upon standards of expected ethical behavior for all parties involved in the act of publishing: the author, the journal editor, the peer reviewer, the publisher. Due to that authors and reviewers should report any possible conflicts of interest to the Board of editors.

Basic requirements for authors:

-          Authorship of publication submitted for review should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the reported study. Transparency about the contributions of authors is encouraged.

-          Authors should ensure that they have written entirely original works, and if the authors have used the work, words of others - this has been appropriately cited or quoted.

-          Reviewers could ask authors to provide the raw data in connection with a paper.

Information for authors is published in every journal and in the webpage of scientific journal “Informacijos mokslai” (

The articles are peer-reviewed by two reviewers. Authors are given reviews with due time to make revisions. Authors may re-submit for review articles declined due to insufficient quality after substantial revision. The rejection of papers on the grounds of plagiarism is final.

Open access

“Informacijos mokslai” is an open access journal, and all its content is freely available without charge to users or their institutions. Users are allowed to read, download, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles in this journal without asking prior permission of the publisher or the author.

The journal does not charge fees for article processing or submission.
