Autor proponuje pragmatyczne ujęcie efektów działania algorytmów platform społecznościowych jako funkcjonalnego, ukrytego adresata aktu mowy. Punktem wyjścia rozważań jest przegląd badań nad moderacją algorytmiczną, świadomością algorytmiczną użytkowników, algorytmicznym adresatem oraz zjawiskiem algomowy (algospeak). W pierwszej części tekstu omówiono ustalenia dotyczące moderacji treści i strategii zwiększania widoczności wypowiedzi. W części drugiej rozwinięto tezę, że algorytm nie jest uczestnikiem komunikacji w sensie psychologicznym, ale stanowi pragmatycznie relewantną instancję odbiorczą, której przewidywana reakcja wpływa na formę wypowiedzi. Analiza przykładów algomowy pokazuje, że są one nie tylko przejawem kreatywności językowej, lecz także strategiami komunikacyjnymi kierowanymi jednocześnie do użytkowników i algorytmów. Wnioski wskazują na potrzebę rewizji klasycznych kategorii pragmatycznych w badaniach komunikacji platformowej.
