The article is devoted to the religious-polemical texts from the Tatar manuscript P97 from the Central Scientific Library of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Belarus. These texts are four original works united into collection with the common title “From where the idols have come”. The texts are strongly connected with the important cultural processes of the 16th–17th centuries and reflect a typical religious polemic of that time. The peculiarities of every of these four works reveal their multi-layer character from the point of view of religious origin. The anti-Trinitarian influence is the most noticeable among the different ones that can be found in these texts, especially in the first of them. Only the anti-Trinitarian mediation between the origin and the Muslim editor can be supposed in the second and third texts. The fourth text has not any specific anti-Trinitarian features. The Muslim authorship is suggested for all four works which are not a mere compilation of the different texts but a fundamental re-make of the original sources. This collection of the texts is an important source for the history of relations between different confessions in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and for the history of the spiritual culture of the Lithuanian Tatars.
