The Roman Empire and the Roman law have had many increases and fallings during the history. Though is it worth to concentrate on declinations when it is possible to talk about the Renaissance? Therefore the article deals with the Bolognese school of Glossators which gave rebirth to the Roman law, impulse for the beginning of legal studies, creation of Universities, which had tremendous influence upon the formation of the Western Legal Tradition; moreover the articles concerns the importance, the origins, the pioneer initiators and the representatives of this school.
