In the research of the authors of this collection of articles, mutual acquaintance is understood as an integral part of the relations between Lithuanians and Jews: it is the efforts of Jews or a part of their community of various types and directions to get to know and understand Lithuanian culture, to become active participants in it, and the attempts of Lithuanians to get acquainted with the cultural life of Jews as fellow citizens and its achievements. The authors, focusing on the study of mutual cultural ties between Lithuanians and Jews, sought to develop and evaluate this aspect of Lithuanian-Jewish relations from a historical perspective.
