This collection of articles constitutes the second part of the ongoing project “The “Division” of the Heritage of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania”. It also includes several contributions based on papers delivered at the international scholarly conference “The Grand Duchy of Lithuania and Its Tradition: The Fates of National Narratives”, held at Vilnius University on 20–22 November 2008 and dedicated to the centenary of the birth of the historian Zenonas Ivinskis. Both the earlier volume and the present book examine stereotypical images inherited from traditional historiographies, identities shaped by the traditions of coexistence among the peoples of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, and a range of processes of integration.
