Abstract
Nowadays it is trivial to claim, that the science is grounded both on theory and on observation or practice. The development of conceptual systems is as important as the empirical observation. The article is to discuss the influence of the Soviet science system for the development of sociology in Lithuania, which is both constrained and grounded on previous system of classification of scientific disciplines.
