Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word format (see guidelines on manuscripts below), or is produced using the LaTeX file format provided by the journal (see paper examples below) .
  • All illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Guidelines on manuscripts.

Guidelines on manuscripts to the Lithuanian Journal of Statistics

To make submission , authors should first register and log in. Also, the authors can send their manuscripts  by  e-mail to statisticsjournal@mif.vu.lt. However the authors are strongly encouraged to use the former option.

The journal accepts manuscripts written in Lithuanian or English. The length of the paper may be up to 15 pages size A4.

The papers submitted should be not published anywhere else or submitted to  any other editorial board. The author should save the submitted version of his/her paper and be responsible for its safety.

Any article submitted should pass through initial assessment including cheking for technical quality and plagiarism and  then the reviewing procedure by anonymous referees. Afterwards the editorial board makes the final decision on the publication of the paper.

I. Submitted matter. Each paper should include the following:
-          title,
-          title, name and surname of the author with the footnote containing  institution, mail address, telephone and e-mail address for contacts,
-          abstract in the language of the paper,
-          3-5 keywords in the language of the paper.

II. Contents of the paper. The paper should consist of the sections typical of the scientific paper. The paper should begin with the introduction in which the aim of the research is defined, object of the study is highlighted, the literature in the field of research is overviewed, and the methods used are described: methodology for practical work and problems as well as arguments for novelty of their solution and proofs  for theoretical work. The paper is concluded  with the summation of the reserach results, conclusions and the list of references.

III. The style of the manuscript should satisfy the usual requirements to the scientific papers and should have the following:

- the titles of the sections should be written in capital letters, numbered and centered,

- all the abbreviations should be unscrambled and used only after that,

- the words of languages  other  than the main language of the paper should be written in italics   with the translation into the main language of the paper,

- the tables and figures should be numbered and have the titles,

- the displayed formulae should be numbered on the right-hand side.

IV. Abstract. The paper should have comprehensive abstracts in Lithuanian and English. If the author does not know Lithuanian, then he/she should present the abstract and keywords  only in English, and they will be translated into Lithuanian by Editors. The abstract should be without formulae, footnotes, and citing.

V. References should be listed in alfabetic order by the author and chronologically for each author and be numbered. They should have full information needed for the reader. The title of the book or journal should be written in italics. The refernce is cited indicating its number in the square brackets, like this [2]. The example of the list of references includes the  article in the journal, a book and an article in the collection of papers:

Author details

All authors of a manuscript should include their full name and affiliation in the submission form.

  • Please include ORCiD.
  • Please provide your institutions ROR.
  • One author will need to be identified as the corresponding author, with the author’s email address provided in the submission form.
  • Please note that no changes to affiliation can be made after the paper has been accepted for publication.
  • Short biographic information must be provided by the corresponding author at the time of manuscript submission. Once the paper has been accepted for publication, all co-authors have to provide a short biographic information (no more than 200 words). This information will be visible on the published article’s landing page.

In case if there is more than one author, please provide an explanation at the end of the article detailing each author's contributions according to the CRediT criteria. Reference: CRediT_Taxonomy_Terms_and_Definitions_list.

Note. All papers have to be prepared for a blind review. Any information that could help to identify the author(s) (author details, acknowledgements, etc.) should be omitted from the manuscript. This information can be added to the manuscript once the paper has been accepted for publication. With Microsoft Office documents, author identification should also be removed from the properties of the file by clicking on the following: File > Information > Check For Issues > Inspect Document > press Inspect > in section Choose Document Properties and Personal Information click Remove All > Save.
