Author Guidelines

The journal Ekonomika presents original explanations and solutions to theoretical and methodological economic problems and research, and focuses on the analysis and evaluation of the current state and development of economics, economic sectors and business firms’ strategies in local and foreign markets, which contribute to the advancement of economic science in the Central and East European (CEE) region. Also, investigations of practical issues pertaining to the regional economy, evaluation of methods and solutions to economic problems may be submitted. The journal presents analyses of economic management issues, their scholarly interpretation and evaluation, which are of interest not only to academics but also to practitioners. Authors are also invited to submit book reviews, critiques, and other informative material for publication at the end of each issue.

We suggest that the paper contain all the necessary parts of a scientific paper such as aims, objectives, methods, results, conclusions, and a list of references. The paper should indicate the address of the author’s institutional affiliation.

More concretely, the first page should present the title of the paper, name of the author(s), affiliation, address, and e-mail address. The article should first have an abstract, followed by an introduction, the core of the paper, finally analysis, conclusion, and reference list. The abstract should have the research objective clearly indicated, which methods were employed, indicate the study’s findings, list conclusions and up to 5 keywords. The length of the abstract should be no more than 1500 symbols. The text must be printed using a 1.5 line spacing. The sent document should be in a common word processing format, such as Word or RTF. We will not accept documents in the PDF format. We accept articles in LaTex. We request the Times New Roman font. It is strongly recommended not to exceed one publisher’s sheet (35.000 - 45.000 symbols).

The journal only does basic proofreading, so the author assumes responsibility for the proper level of English in the article. Upon receipt of the article, the editorial board evaluates the level of English in of the text, and, if it is suitable for review, submits the article to two reviewers. The article review, layout and publication are free for the author.

After the authors have corrected the article according to the reviewers' comments, it is submitted to the university publishing house. Our publisher's English language expert assesses the language level of the text in the article and decides whether the article needs detailed editing or not. It is up to the author to decide if he can take care of the editing of the article.

Those who are unable to ensure a proper level of language on their own can use a professional language editor or contact the journal publisher for a paid editing service by e-mail. Please write via email jurgita.rumsiene@leidykla.vu.lt for this service. The English language experts of the publishing house assess the language level of the text after the author himself edits the text or utilizes the editing services.

The editors reserve the right not to publish an article that does not meet our language requirements.

References to authors in the text should be in the following style: (Kohonen, 2001; Tyugu, 1998). The list of bibliographic references must be presented in alphabetic order, and the format of references should follow the APA requirements. For example, Lav-ingne, M. (1995).
